If interested in commissioning a portrait, Carl tends to specialise in portraiture featuring backgrounds, depicting the connection between people and places (there is flexibility in this, depending upon the proposal).
Commissioned paintings tend to be created from photographs. With regard to this, your geographic location may be a consideration, as Carl usually needs to take his own photos (there is flexibility in this, depending upon the proposal).
Pinpointing specific artwork/s of Carl’s that may come closest to your proposal, may be helpful when providing a quote.
